Enterprise Technology Architecture & Advisory
Syntaxeum.
The Grammar of Enterprise Architecture
We translate educational and organizational challenges into secure, scalable technology.
What we do
Technology that begins with listening
Syntaxeum transforms complexity into thoughtful, secure, and lasting solutions that help people do their best work.
After years of working alongside students, families, educators, and school leaders, we saw the same challenges again and again: fragmented systems, disconnected information, and technology that often created more work instead of solving problems. We created Syntaxeum to bridge that gap by designing thoughtful technology solutions that reflect the real needs of the people who use them.
Education and enterprise, together
The partnership of an educator and a financial services technology executive. We combine educational insight with enterprise technology expertise to build systems that are intuitive, secure and scalable.
People and systems
We look at complex problems from both a human and a technical perspective: how people think, communicate, and work alongside the systems that support them.
Across sectors
Our perspective was shaped by education and enterprise technology, and our approach extends to education, financial services, government, and enterprise organizations.
Products
Browse and Borrow
From a bookshelf at the back of a classroom to a dedicated library with a full-time librarian, Browse and Borrow works the way a school works today. It is software as a service: it runs in the browser on any computer, Chromebook or tablet, with nothing for the school to install.
Circulation
Checkout in a scan, with grade-level limits and due dates that follow the school calendar. Holds that work like a queue, a self-checkout kiosk, and overdue and hold-ready notices.
Catalog
Add a book by scanning its ISBN, or find the record by title and author at the Library of Congress or Google Books. Import MARC from another system, including OPALS, and export MARC any time. Spine and copy labels.
Rostering
Import the school’s roster from a CSV file or OneRoster. Textbook sections can come from the school’s SIS over OneRoster, from a CSV export or by hand.
Classroom libraries
Each classroom shelf can have its own teacher and its own rules, all in one catalog with one set of reports.
Textbooks
Issue textbooks by scanning through a section, collect them in any order with their condition noted, and close the year with every copy accounted for.
Student privacy
Each school’s records live in its own Google Cloud project. There is no advertising or analytics code in Browse and Borrow, and we never sell data.
