About Syntaxeum
The grammar of enterprise architecture.
Syntaxeum was born from the belief that the best solutions and the best technology begin with listening. After years of working alongside students, families, educators, and school leaders, we saw the same challenges again and again: fragmented systems, disconnected information, and technology that often created more work instead of solving problems.
The partnership of an educator and a financial services technology executive, both parents, we understood those challenges from different but complementary perspectives. We created Syntaxeum to bridge that gap by designing thoughtful technology solutions that reflect the real needs of the people who use them. By combining educational insight with enterprise technology expertise, we help organizations build systems that are intuitive, secure, scalable, and designed to make a meaningful difference.
Our perspective was shaped by both education and enterprise technology, but our approach extends far beyond either industry. Our strength lies in understanding complex problems from both a human and technical perspective: examining how people think, communicate, and work alongside the systems that support them. That unique combination allows us to solve challenges across education, financial services, government, and enterprise, creating technology that is innovative, purposeful, practical, and built to last.
Whether we’re partnering with a school, a financial institution, a government agency, or an enterprise organization, our goal remains the same: to transform complexity into thoughtful, secure, and lasting solutions that help people do their best work.
Leadership
Syntaxeum is a majority woman-owned company, founded and led by Miriam Filer. She brings more than a decade of classroom and literacy leadership and a practitioner’s eye for how people actually learn and work; her co-founder brings 25+ years of enterprise technology leadership across cloud, identity and access, and AI-driven modernization. Under Miriam’s leadership, education, finance, and enterprise technology come together as one continuous perspective — and it shapes everything we build.
Miriam Filer
Miriam founded Syntaxeum and leads the company as its majority owner. An educator, learning specialist, and literacy leader with more than a decade of classroom experience across elementary and middle schools, she designs curriculum and support for diverse learners, mentors new teachers, and builds programs that make learning accessible. She began her career in finance before moving into education — a dual perspective that anchors Syntaxeum’s belief that the best technology begins with understanding the people who use it.
Mark Filer
Mark is a global technology executive with more than 25 years building and leading cloud and infrastructure engineering organizations across the financial-services industry. He has founded and scaled engineering functions from the ground up, directed large multi-cloud estates and enterprise budgets, and built early identity-and-access-management practices of the kind now central to how large firms secure their systems. He advises senior technology and business leaders on infrastructure that is modern, resilient, and cost-efficient — and stays close to the architecture he leads.
